Such a claim, according to foreign media, comes after several images were published in which the Taliban are seen making a “lap with a $6m helicopter produced by the US, Blackhawk around an airport.
They also reportedly have published propagandistic images of “special forces” dressed in armoured forces.
Last week, National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan admitted that the US does not have a clear list of how much of the 83 billion military inventory is now missing at enemy hands.
US-made equipment for the Afghan Army now likely to be in the hands of Taliban also includes 50,000 tactical vehicles, 1,000 mine resistant vehicles and 150 armoured personnel carriers.
However, experts say it is unclear whether there is anyone within the rows of Taliban with knowledge to fly any of them successfully.
According to the Daily Mail, the United States also donated at least 200,000 firearms to the Afghan Army, including M24 sniper rifles, M18 assault rifles, antitank missiles, automatic grenades, mortars and rocket grenades.
