Taliban kill Deutsche Welle journalist's family

The Taliban in persecution of a Deutsche Welle journalist have shot one member of his family to death and seriously injured another. The Taliban had searched from house to house for the journalist, who while working in Germany. Other members of the journalist's family could leave in recent seconds and are on the run.

Deutsche Welle General Director Peter Limbourg strongly condemned the murder and demanded that the German government act. The murder of a close family member of one of our editors is very tragic and proves the acute danger of our employees and their families in Afghanistan. The Taliban, both in Kabul and in the provinces, are apparently beginning to search organisedly for journalists. No more time! ”
