As if the chaos created by the Taliban were not enough, Afghanistan risks facing another wound: Coddy's, writes Euronews

Taliban have banned vaculation in some areas and can now declare it illegal throughout the country. If there were a new wave of infection, the country would not be ready at all.

Residents say the Taliban have closed all the hospital centers and used them only for their own soldiers. Medical and health sector have ended at the moment of their arrival.

People on the street don't even wear masks, and they say they're more afraid of Taliban than of the virus. The former leader of Afghan public health said that without the help of governments and international organisations, the situation could be transformed into a humanitarian catastrophe.

And the problem would reach as far west as a wave of Afghan immigrants leaving their country. And in the past, Taliban have openly expressed the rejection of vaccines, including against polio. This refusal has religious reasons: In many vaccines, in fact, are used by pork components that are forbidden by the Koran.

Meanwhile, vaccine companies have long insisted that there are vaccines against Covid that do not have such components.
