Svechla: The number of Afghan citizens who came to Kosovo tonight is 111

This has been announced tonight by Interior Minister Jalal Svecla at a news conference at Pristina Airport, after the arrival of the first group of Afghans to be removed from the conflict in Afghanistan.

The group that arrived in Kosovo via the “Adem Jashar” are women, children and elders, family members of NATO collaborators in Afghanistan. It is only the first group, meanwhile, expected tomorrow to reach other Afghans, who will be temporarily accommodated in Kosovo.

They were hosted by President Vjosa Osmani, Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Interior Minister Jedal Svecla, the latter suggested that residents from Afghanistan will be tested for COVID-19 and that quarantine will be applied to positive persons.

The number of citizens who came to Kosovo tonight is 111. Among them we have seen a large number of children, women and elders who are family of NATO collaborators in Afghanistan. They will be placed in the former Bechtel Enca camp and will only be the first group of Afghan citizens to house. Future flights are expected to take place tomorrow. He has already talked about medical assistance that can be offered to Afghan refugees in view of the condition of the coronary pandemic.

“As we speak, our medical teams are already testing for the COVID-19 of these refugees and if we have any case that is with COVID-19 will be prosecuted according to health protocols. We've also prepared quarantine spaces. We've also prepared room for vaccine. Space is at Pristina's old terminal and will be forwarded to other” locations, Svecla said.
