Albania has so far hosted 607 Afghans, who have been accommodated in the Student City in Tirana and Durres at hotel facilities.
Meanwhile, the number of arrivals is expected to total 4 thousand, as officially announced by the Albanian government.
In an interview for Fax News, an Afghan citizen in City Student named Fajaz Ahmad says that as he arrives in Albania, he feels better and a step away from his dream, medicine.
Ahmad adds that he has completed medical studies in his country, but it was impossible to continue his mission there and that he hopes he will soon start his studies at Johns Hopkins University in America to become a leading cardiology surgeon.
I'm 26 years old, I graduated as a doctor but I had to stop working there.
I no longer saw a future in Afghanistan, for many reasons, first the possibility of staying, the economy of the country and everything that fell into the hands of the Taliban.
We have families to feed, I seized the opportunity I was offered, and I came here. I don't have any family members here because my brother was left sick after being poisoned by food.
We arrived yesterday at 10: 00 a.m., I feel cheaper than there are no restrictions in Abu Dhabi or other places.
Abu Dhabi was a prisoner perhaps because of the Covid-19 protocol, I'm vaccinated.
I dream of becoming a surgeon in cardiology. I didn't plan on staying here, I want to go to America and study at Johns Hopkins University. Honestly, I feel really good, one step away from my dream” Ahmad said.
