Serbia's Foreign Ministry has told FoNet agency on Wednesday that Serbia's ambassador to Russia, Miroslav Lazanski, is dead.
Lazanski was journalist and commentator before entering politics in the 2016 elections, when he was elected deputy of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party. He was appointed ambassador to Moscow in July 2019.
He was known for telling military affairs. Lazanski was born in Croatia and his father was a Yugoslav National Army officer and has lived in Zagreb for much of his life.
Lazanski was deployed in Belgrade in 1991, when Yugoslavia was disbanded, to write for the pro-government daily, “Politika”, and to become later close to authorities in the nineties.
During his career as a journalist, he has covered several conflicts in the world, including those in Afghanistan, Beirut, Chechnya, Lebanon, the Iran-Iraq war and wars in the former Yugoslavia.
