US report on Kosovo: KSF to be transformed into operational army by 2027

The U.S. Centre for Regional Studies “Wilson Center” has published a report on Kosovo titled “Consolidating Kosovo Independence: Why it matters and what must be done”. In this report American Centre recommends that Kosovo international partners The US and the EU must renew the commitment to consolidate Kosovo's sovereignty, including facilitating the transformation of [...]
The American forum “Wilson Center” also made some recommendations for the US, the EU, Great Britain and NATO in reporting with Kosovo.
Among other things, international partners are said to double support for Kosovo's accession to international organisations, liberalise visas for Kosovo, encourage five non-recognitional EU states to change their stance on Kosovo's independence, as well as facilitate the development of the KSF towards a fully operational military by 2027.
“Increase co-operation between Kosovo and NATO. Make the development of the Kosovo Security Force fully operational by 2027 and additional co-operation in joint military exercises”, says the “Wilson Center” report.
This report also speaks of Serbia's challenges, where President Alexander Vuciq is mentioned as dangerous for peace and stability in the region and also Serbia's close ties with Russia and China.
The rise of non-liberal, nationalist leadership in Serbia, led by President Alexander Vuciq, poses another significant risk to regional peace and stability, as are Serbia's close ties with Russia and China. The Serbian government continues to openly challenge Kosovo's sovereignty, threatens the unity of Bosnia and Herzegovina through encouraging the division of Republika Srpska and its union with Serbia, and works to undermine Montenegro's sovereignty through pro-Serb groups in the new government. These divisive and destabilising regional policies, as well as the reinforcement of the Serbian Army, are backed by Russia, which has directly intervened in countries throughout the Balkans, especially in Montenegro and in northern Macedonia”, said among other things in the “Wilson Center” report.
