The report has confirmed that lifting the visa regime has brought positive economic, social and cultural benefits to both EU member states and partner countries.
The report analyses data collected during 2020 and recommendations provided in the European Commission's third report.
European Commissioner for Internal Affairs Ylva Johansson has stated that lifting the visa system for Western Balkan countries has brought a significant result and helps these countries improve immigration and asylum seekers' problem management, and strengthens the fight of institutions against organised crime and corruption.
