The government says they have been in communication with the US since mid-July, stressing that the US remains the main ally of our state.

“Since mid-July we have been in constant communication and co-operation with US state and military authorities on this painful and sensitive issue. There's a lot of logistical, technical, security and social work that we're treating carefully. The United States is our main ally and our strategic partner.
