Professor Abdullah Karjagdiu dies at 84 years of age

Professor Karjagdi was one of the first university professors of English language and literature. One time she worked as an English, French and Albanian teacher in Prizren high schools, then in the daily “Renaissance”.
The deceased has been the author of dozens of university works and a translator of literary masterpieces. Among the masterpieces translated by Karjagdiu is “Autobiography” of the Albanian event Fan Noli, as well as “Kosovo a short history” of historian Noel Malcolm.
He has been practicing career functions the way they do: Head of the English Department of Literature and Language, Prodecan and dean of the Faculty of Philology, deputy chairman of the Albanian Democratic Party and the Parliamentary Party, chairman of the Association of Shakespeareologists and the Association of Translators, director of the Foreign Language Institute.
He has also been a close associate of former President Ibrahim Rugova and the Ademi Demac event.
The burial of the deceased was made on Saturday in Pristina's cemetery, at “Arberi”, at 13:30.
