A Reuters report says the White House representative, Jen Psaki, said the US president warned G7 leaders during today's summit that the US mission in Kabul would end up depending on the achievement of American goals.
The president has confirmed that we are on our way to achieving these goals by August 31st,” said Psaki.
During the speech at the G7 summit, the US president noted that the United States “is rapidly conducting withdrawals from Afghanistan until August 31st, depending on co-operation with the Taliban”.
Biden sent thousands of American troops to Kabul airport after the Taliban invaded the capital and much of Afghanistan nearly two weeks ago.
About 6,000 American soldiers are helping evacuate endangered American citizens and Afghans, but also to secure the airport so that other countries can evacuate their citizens.
