PDK Chiefity Meetings, Tragic Status Discussed With Pandemia

The headship of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, led by President Memli Krasniqi, has held today its regular meeting, where they discussed recent developments and the tragedy Kosovo is going through as a result of worsening the status of the pandemic. August of this year, it was the most tragic period ever [...]
The month of August this year was the most tragic period Kosovo has experienced so far from the beginning of the pandemic. According to public data, during this month alone, 213 citizens of our country died, while 35 thousand and 299 citizens were infected.
Members of the PDK's Headship discussed the concern Kosovo citizens are showing, who are constantly demanding the term for vaccines, which cannot be received due to lack of vaccines. This situation becomes even more disturbing, for the fact that Kosovo is at the bottom of Europe's list of countries in terms of percentages of the population vaccinated.
The PDK invites Government to change the approach of managing the process of vaccinating citizens in this tragic period.
The government must have concrete plans for continued supply of vaccines, for increased vaccine capacity and decentralise this service, allowing 7 days of the week's vaccine for every citizen, in neighbourhoods, villages and towns, and not to keep this vital process further centralised for citizens”, it is said in communiques.
The PDK's leadership has also discussed the process of preparations about the 17 October local elections.
The members of the Headship were informed that the Central Election Commission has certified 29 PDK candidates for mayors and 875 candidates for 33 Communist countries, this time again being the party with the largest number of municipal leadership candidates.
17 out of 29 PDK candidates for mayors compete for the first time, while 22 out of 29 candidates have never been led by municipalities.
Similarly, even in these elections, the PDK is the party that has mostly women's candidates for mayors of the municipalities, as well as candidates for the Communist countries. In total, The PDK has 4 candidates for mayors of the municipalities and 324 women candidates for the Communist Assembly.
Four secretaries have been appointed to this headship meeting: Betim Joshi for Organising and Elections, Bernard Nikaj for International Relations, Adri Nurellar for Programme Policy and Bekim Colak secretary for EuroAtlantic Integration Affairs.
