The Qika organisation has reacted to Justice Minister Albulen Haxhiu, who attended today's organised protest following the 18-year murder in Ferizaj, where it was asked that women's killings be treated as national emergency.
This organisation has said that the participation of ministers and other government officials in today's protest is meaningless and inappropriate.
“Qika” has asked the minister before physically in protest to implement the strategy. to protect against domestic violence.
Women's procedures are seeking institutional responsibility for the violence and the killings that are taking place. The welfare of government officials to protest against the institutions they themselves run, cannot be allowed. The demands put forward today at the protest need no support but realisation. This is your task”.
Full response:
It's not a matter of presence, it's a lack of action.
The participation of ministers and other government officials in today's protest is meaningless and inappropriate, as are their excusing (legal) statements in the case of the murder of Marigona Osmani. Before he is physically in protest, the minister must be ahead of the strategy now missing for eight months.
The national strategy for protection from domestic violence 2016-2020 expired in December 2020, which has only partially been implemented. The justice ministry is responsible for drafting and implementing this strategy.
Women's protests are demanding institutional responsibility for the violence and murders that are taking place. The welfare of government officials to protest against the institutions they themselves run, cannot be allowed. The demands put forward today at the protest need no support but realisation. This is your duty.
With consensus, neither justice nor equality is achieved. Battles continue.
