In a reaction from the OAK, financial support for the losses caused by these provisions has to be put forward in any decision.
Kosovo's “Oda of Afarism (OAK) calls for Prime Minister Kurti to postpone the Kosovo Government's hasty decision on restrictions from tomorrow. Any decision made should be preceded by financial support for the losses caused to businesses and support to workers who are unemployed as a result of the government's” decision, says the letter sent to Prime Minister Kurti.
Furthermore, they have demanded that the decision's entry into force regarding the new measures be postponed until at least September 15th, 2021, so that both citizens and businesses can have access and time span to prepare for these changes.
Full announcement:
The Kosovo Afarism Oda (OAK) calls for Prime Minister Kurti to postpone the Kosovo Government's hasty decision on restrictions from tomorrow. Any decision taken should be preceded by financial support for the losses caused to businesses and support to workers who are unemployed as a result of the government's decision, Prime Minister Kurti's letter said.
The OAK has demanded that the decision's entry into force regarding the new measures be postponed by at least September 15th, 2021, so that both citizens and businesses can have access and space to prepare for these changes.
The immediate changes in either the total opening or now the immediate closure are being described as very harmful in business terms, causing losses and difficulties in stock management and supplies, the OAK notes in her letter.
Businesses in general, particularly the Horeb sector, in the case of release of measures have made the necessary supplies for the exercise of their economic activity, so OAK has demanded that austerity measures be gradual, since businesses are not willing to face this whole situation alone. OAK risks any decision of closure should be accompanied by financial support, otherwise there will be job losses, not desire, but obligation.
OAK considers that increasing measures and compliance with regulations at all times is necessary in order to maintain public health, but that there should be ways to subsidize companies. The bans that are taking place in a very short period, with no space and time for preparation, are greatly damaging the business situation as a result of the Devov 19 pandemic, adding that because of financial incompatibility, businesses have an impossible place to keep the number of employees working so far, the OAK letter says.
OAK has also demanded that schedules at the vaccine centers be extended, and that they operate even during weekend days in order to have as many people vaccinated as possible. Where this demand has resulted from numerous complaints OAK has accepted from member businesses throughout Kosovo about the difficulties they are facing recently for inoculation.
We remember that of the figures published on Web's official health ministry website, there are currently only 221,026 people who have received both doses of vaccine, while only 423,186 persons have been vaccinated with the first dose. So, based on these figures, it means we have a very large number of the population vaccinated compared to the total number.
