The Kosovo Democratic Party General Council has voted last night the new PDK chairmanship proposed by opposition leader Memli Krasniqi.
As Krasniqi himself has stated, The PDK, in the composition of the new leadership, has managed to preserve its DNA flowing from the KLA, having within it devout and domestic people who grew up organically in PDK, but also opening up for new frameworks that trust the PDK vision.
But what are the new names of PDK Headship?
Bernard Nikaj Professor, Diplomat, former Kosovo ambassador to Brussels, has joined PDK in the new leadership.
Nikaj is educated in some of the world's most prestigious universities.
He has been highly praised by the authorities of Kosovo's friendly states for dignified representation of the state in foreign policy.
Well-known Psychological Professor, Donika Sahini-Lami, has become part of the PDK leadership and member of the Steering Council.
Professor Donika Sahini-Lami, who worked for 10 years ago in the Organization for Co-operation and Security in Europe, O SBE.
She is also known for her work as a journalist during the Kosovo war, and has worked for Japanese Public Television, NHK, as well as co-operated with different international media.
Also selected in the new PDK leadership Jakup NuraA close associate of the legendary KLA commander, Adem Jashar, from the beginning of the liberation war.
He comes from a respected Drenica family whose home has been among the KLA's first addresses.
New member of the PDK's leadership has also been elected Besa Kabashi-Ramaj, educated in American University, and experienced in the fields of international security, defence and management. It has worked for many prominent local and international organisations and foundations.
Part of the new PDK leadership has become Bekim Colak. He is educated in Great Britain, with long institutional and political experience. He has been a close associate and Prime Minister and President Hashim Thaci's chief staff.
In the new PDK leadership, Adri Nurellari, politicologist, professor and publicist has also been elected.
Nurellar has previously been PDK chairman of cabinet Kadri Veselin and former PDK adviser Hashim Thaci.
Also, for the first time in PDK leadership, Petrit Hajdari, Rashit Calaj, Nexhat Demaku, Cameron Gashi and Muhamet Haliti have been elected.
