Municipal mayors demand increased vaccine centres, some ready to cover expenses

Until yesterday, Saturday and Sunday were a vacation for doctors and nurses who vaccinate citizens, while Health Minister Arben Vitita has announced that the vaccine will take place on Saturdays from now on.

But Kosovo mayors are desperately demanding that the inoculation not be interrupted even on Sunday.

They are willing to open the Family Medicine Centres and ambulances in the villages to vaccinate residents of their own municipalities, but who ask the Ministry of Health for the vaccine.

Kosovo Communist Association Chairman Saban Ibrahimi has said that during the meeting with Minister Vitita, they have asked that vaccine centres be added, and Sundays are also being worked.

The leaders have also sought to add vaccination centres and work on Sunday, not just Saturday. The situation is urgent. Now the state has to intervene, here I am?

Ibrahimi said that every two weeks meetings are scheduled with the Ministry of Health and they will see what they will take in two weeks, but as he said, the situation is alarming.

Some of them are willing to cover the financial cost themselves, only for citizens to have the opportunity to be vaccinated on Sunday.
