As for the gender, out of 111 people coming to refuge in Kosovo, 55 are women and children, while the others are men.
In Kosovo on Sunday 29 August, the first group of Afghan citizens arrived, who fled their state after the Taliban took over. They were transported from Germany on an American Air Force plane. Kosovo authorities also announced that the other Afghan group is expected to arrive on Monday.
Afghan citizens, who have worked with NATO, along with their families, will remain temporarily in Kosovo until long-term documentations in the United States are regulated.
The Afghans who have arrived in Kosovo have been sheltered in the former Bechtel Enka company camp, located near the US military base “Bandsteel” in Ferizaj.
Meanwhile, through an announcement the Ministry of Internal Affairs has indicated that because of the safety and privacy of refugees from Afghanistan based in Kosovo, for a certain time, the media will not have access to the camp to get views.
