He has said this is the last moment for proper confrontation with the past, adding that it is also the last moment for addressing all that has happened in the recent war in Kosovo.

“Their restoration. Fulfilling the right to the truth about crime victims, survivors and their families,” said Kurti, at the first meeting of the working Group for drafting the Strategy for Transitional Justice.

In his address, he has stressed that the Strategy for Transitional Justice should unite all initiatives launched as branches from a common source, which is the need to address the past.

This strategy is designed to provide an action and co-ordination platform between initiatives and serve as a reference platform for all those dealing with the past”, it has added further.

Kurti has added that the problem and at the same time the biggest mistake of Kosovo as the state and the Governments of Kosovo has been that we've had countless ad hoc initiatives, which, in the absence of state co-ordination, have repeated the findings and failed to address properly or as well as deserve the bearers of damage.

While Justice Minister Albulen Haxhiu said it would be devoted to “drafting a comprehensive strategy, with the focus of victims and having gender sensitivity”.

It demanded from the working group that the drafting of the Strategy for Transitional Justice be done in continuous consultation with citizens affected by war so that this strategy will better reflect the experiences, needs and rights of victims.

The members of the Working Group for the drafting of the Strategy for Transitional Justice, consisting of state officials and experts for Transital Justice, Juris, representatives of associations and organisations dealing with human rights protection, war crimes documentationrs, and representatives of embassies and international and international organisations in Kosovo.
