Kosovo has been facing the largest number of infected since the beginning of the pandemic.

The capacity of clinics that handle these cases is toward completion, while dozens are dying in one day alone. Some services at the CKUK have been suspended, since the safety of free beds remains a challenge.

Kosovo University Clinical Hospital Service Director Valbon Krasniqi calls for vaculation, since many of the patients being treated are unexplored. He tells Kosovo Press that the situation is very heavy, while talking about reorganisation of clinics.

The situation is heavily charged with the large number of patients seeking hospitalization. We have 1,139 patients receiving hospital services in seven general hospitals and CKUK clinics. And this number has already exceeded the number of 1010 patients we've had on the pit of pandemic during late November last year. We're forced to organize additional beds to increase these capacities. So, to re-organize all the QKUK clinics and all the health staff who are treating these patients”, he relates.

The expectations are that the number of hospitalised patients will increase the following days, but Krasniqi says measures must be taken to prevent the spread of the virus.

We can't compete with the virus, in the sense of how much the virus can infect. We won't ask for additional beds, but we have to ask for the virus to stop. And the halting of the virus is done only through inoculation and only through strict compliance with measures by each Kosovo citizen, he adds.

Further, he announces that they are well - equipped with medicine and medical equipment but not with sufficient numbers of beds.

We regret that we are pressed and must suspend certain services, such as non-urgent nature surgical services, and we have reduced emergency medical services by about 50 percent. We ask for understanding citizens, for the fact that we are obliged to use beds for patients with COVID and to prioritize diseases which are of urgent nature”, Krasniqi declares.

He lists the causes that affected the increase in such cases with infection, stressing that there has been uncontrolled release of the measures.

“Release of measures over the past three months, general relaxation of all of us without exception, parties, weddings, bars, nightclubs, diaspora arrival, the arrival of Kosovo citizens outside Kosovo, all of which have affected”, he points out.

Krasniqi also speaks of the possibility of infection during the vaccine.

All available existing science-based data, not only for COVIED, but almost no vaccine from dead or drowning viruses that are not produced by living viruses can infect humans with that virus. So even Astra-Zeneca vaccines and Pfizers of the two species that are used in us are not vaccines produced by living viruses, so there is no way that man can be infected during the vaccine. It is expected and a person can be infected a few days before the vaccine, even days after the vaccine, because you know that the vaccine produces antibodies and organization takes 7 days or 14 days to create antibodies”, Krasniqi explains.

He has appealed to all to respect measures in power and to be aware of their health protection.

Otherwise, in the University Clinical Hospital Service seven anti units have refunctioned. - CO VID. During yesterday's day they lost their battle with this 16-person virus, more than 2,000 others have been infected, while over 15 thousand have been vaccinated with doses for protection from the virus.
