Three Pristina University students “has been decorated with medals at the International Mathematics Olympics for University Students.
Following Kosovo's success at the Tokyo Olympic Games, the medal has also won Arben Ayredini, Nijefci's hands and Andy Sejdiu, all three third year students at the UPI, who have won a Golden Medal, an Silver Medal and a bronze medal at the Mathematics Olympics.
The head of the Association of Mathematicians of Kosovo, Armend Shabani, has told Telegrafi that preparations for this race, where Kosovo now participates and three years are constantly made.
The “Preparations for such races are continuous. I can say that these students have been engaging in competitive activities since high school, but with intensive preparation, with the aim of the results in this race, they have been taking place since March”, he said.
Shaban also stressed that in other races, students from Kosovo have managed to receive awards, but this is the first time they have managed to win first place.
This is the third time our students have participated in these races. Even in the other two races, we have reached awards (second and third), but this is the first time we receive the first”, Shabani said.
Pristina University Mathematics Department student Arben Ayredin has won First Award (Golden Medal).
Department of Mathematics student at the University of Pristina, Duarta Nifefci, has won Second Award.
While the next student of the Mathematics Department, Andy Sejdiu, has won a Third Price (Bronz Medal).
According to information published by the Kosovo Mathematical Associations, IMC is one of the most important world math contests for university students, in which students from prestigious universities from all parts of the world participate.
