Infectious clinic without free beds is filled with patients with COVID-19

His symptoms, he relates, were very serious.

I had a big fever and I was very tired. I've been really bad. I didn't believe he'd get away with his illness. Whoever knows, like me who tried the virus, takes the vaccine and protects the family. I go home today, even those who can be vaccinated, I'll get nothing without asking, and I'll send them to vaccinate”, he says.

At the Infectious Clinic in Pristina on 19 August, there was no free bed.

Infectologist Izet Sadiku has reported on Radio Free Europe, that of the 110 patients being treated at the Infectious Clinic, about 90 percent of them are in oxygen-rapy, and most are unexplored.

It's a short time since this last wave started, but our impressions are that for this short time, clinical forms are heavier than they were in other stages. So we're appealing to people to respect the measures, keep the distance, don't gather unnecessarily. And at the same time, the opportunity to vaccinate as much as possible because the vaccine is the primary means of preventing disease”, Sadiku said.

According to American experts, vaccine against COVID-19 reduces the likelihood that vaccinated persons will be infected with coronavrus, but those infected with Delta after the vaccine tend to spread the virus like unexcused persons. Also, the vaccinated persons infected with the virus have milder symptoms of the disease and more quickly pass it.

By 19 August, Kosovo has administered over 644 thousand vaccines. And the total vaccines are over 221,000.
