Hundreds of Kabul residents have headed towards the New Bank “to withdraw the money they have in their accounts as Taliban fighters enter the city, demanding the unconditional surrender of the central government.
Civilians, fearing that the Taliban can restore some kind of brutal rule, all but eliminating women's rights, rushed to leave the country, lined up near ATMs to withdraw their savings, the AP writes.
Shots were reported in parts of Kabul, according to accounts of eyewitnesses and the country's interior ministry.
And many Western missions are designed to attract their people.
