Justice Minister Albulen Haxhiu has said they are very concerned about the 18-year-old murder.

She has said they are attentive to the situation but also aware of the situation they are facing.

Haxhiu has said that because of the patriarchal mentality, men think they own the woman's body.

“As justice minister, we have the responsibility to co-ordinate the institution in relation to cases of domestic violence. We've established the interministerial group and it's functioning as never before. We have launched a campaign to report domestic violence. We were even in protest, to show that we will give our commitment as Government in addressing these cases. In the government we demand maximum punishment for those who committed this crime”, she has said.

That far has said they have managed to finalise the draft of the criminal procedure code.

The default trial will be allowed for all criminal acts and no one will be able to evade justice, the people who will be charged with corruption cases and etc. will be suspended from duty”, she said.
