For the second week, Afghanistan is in the hands of the Taliban. This development has brought widespread changes to the Afghan state, but other countries as well.

Influenced by this change of state system there may be Kosovo, this drawing back to recognising independence, which took place on October 18, 2008. Afghanistan is among the first seven countries to have recognised Kosovo immediately after declaring independence.

In this regard for Klakosova.tv has been declared former Foreign Affairs Minister in Kosovo Behgjet Pacolli, who has said that if that happens, Kosovo should act in co-operation with the United States.

“I don't believe that the future Government will have time to deal with recognition of Kosovo because of other problems they will face. I believe they will attempt to harm as little as possible, knowing that isolation does not help them. Kosovo should co-ordinate its steps with the US and the EU on this delicate issue”, Pacolli has said.

While opinionist Jehona Lusaku-Sadriu has stressed that he does not expect any quick action in terms of attracting Kosovo's recognition from Afghanistan.

With the collapse of the Government in Afghanistan, there will certainly be changes in foreign policy. As for attracting Kosovo's recognition, I do not expect any quick decision. Kosovo needs to be co-ordinated with Allies for possible evental actions, but the situation is now completely chaotic until we have no structural and institutional clarity in Afghanistan”, Lushaku-Sadriu told Clankosova.tv.

Opinionist Bekim Colak, on the other hand, has declared that the Government must do its job to prevent recognition from Afghanistan.

The question of non-recognition is actual in international relations, despite conflicting academic debates. We have seen this even in the case of Kosovo when states designated for political, strategic or even financial reasons and interests have drawn formal recognition of Kosovo. In the concrete case, although there is no strong legal reason, internal changes in Afghanistan, cannot be ruled out that they can result in changes that could spur eventual recognition of our country. At this stage, we have no reason to prejudge that this will happen. But even if it does happen, Afghanistan's international reputation of state is ruined and there is little chance of producing major negative effects on Kosovo in the international arena. But in any case, the Government of Kosovo must do its job to prevent such a thing”, Colak has declared Clankosova.tv.

Former Kosovo Ambassador to Turkey Avni Spahiu has stressed that the Taliban will not have time to deal with other issues like this of attracting recognition to Kosovo.

This is not the time to say exactly. The Taliban regime will have a problem with international legitimacy for itself. There will be no time to deal with other issues that would result in expanding its international isolation...”, Spahiu told Clankosova.tv.

At Kabul airport, huge numbers have been made by people leaving Afghanistan, a portion of them are foreign citizens but also Afghans who worked for these countries. The U.S. has a small number of military forces there, which have declared they will stay until the evacuation of all the people they need is done.

Kosovo is among several countries around the world that will offer refuge to Afghans at the request of the US. Yesterday's Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Svechla, has said they will host 2,000 Afghans. The exact day for the first refugees to come to Kosovo is not yet known.
