In an exclusive interview for News24 Richard Green pointed out why he returned to the Balkans after leaving the top post in Trump administration. Grenelli said it is promoting foreign investments and economic co-operation in the region, as the only way to ensure prosperity for all citizens, but especially to ensure more employment opportunities for the younger generation.

President Trump's version of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia concerned job creation, with the economy, the idea was for the Balkan region to move forward. We've been talking about politics for decades, but there's not much progress when we were just sitting at the table and discussing politics alone, so it was our wish to move it further by talking about economic development, talking about youth employment, here's what we've seen recently, the agreement on normalising the economic relations that the Trump administration made possible. But what we want to see is the continuation of that investment, that's why I'm here, I don't work for the government anymore. I am in the private sector, and we are seeing opportunities to create a private sector for foreign investment in the Balkans. Here we are to look at various projects, to understand better, you have investors to bring in for foreign investments”, Yerenelli said.

After the visit to Serbia, former President Donald Trump's envoy for dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, Richard Green, chose to visit Albania.

As a diplomat who had under surveillance the performance of Kosovo-Serbia talks, Green also comments on Kosovo's decision to be out of the “Open Balkans”, as appointed by the Balkan Minisengeni. Albin Kurt's decision is simply wrong.

I think he should be part of a broader Balkan conversation, and he's not doing that. It's a big mistake. I think that Kosovo people deserve to have jobs, but without being part of this discussion, they will not be able to be part of normalising economic relations in the Balkans, nor of discussions”, Grenelli said.

But the visionary calls Edi Rama, who has shown leadership in this initiative that he says will create more jobs for Albanians, not just for the entire Balkans.

“It is extremely important to have this leadership, Rama sees clearly, that economic development, and rejection of that policy, see young people expect jobs, they want to see that new industries are coming to their country, and I think that the vision that Prime Minister Edi Rama has is a very good vision for people, that means a better life for many Albanians, and of course throughout the Balkans”, said Greenell.

Asked by News24 for the UN decision to former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, or even for his statement of the influence of Geoge Soros or Prime Minister Rama to the State Department, Yerell was suspended in comments.

The American diplomat is spending the hot days of this August in our country and has chosen to enjoy the pearls of the Albanian coast.
