Governments' frequent shift has stalled the issue of found persons

The frequent change of governments has led the issue of whitelighting the fate of undiscovered persons to linger, family members of missing persons say during the war in Kosovo. Association of Family of Undiscovered Persons representative Bajram Kerkin, in an interview for Online Economy, voiced pessimistic about the dawning of the fate of missing persons during the recent war in Kosovo, as according to him working on recent excavations, both in Kizevac, but at other locations is being described as a political game.

It's a huge sin to play in this location that's been working for five years and it's been known where they are, there's been witnesses, it's the market satellite images, it's such a heavy political game that our hearts are trying to blow. I'm saying that you're done with politicizations, both in Kizevac, where we don't see a big success and at other locations”, Qerin said.

On the other hand, Krkin said that no one would expect Serbia to open military archives without any major pressure, and that as a single solution you see the help of internationals that Kosovo's fate does not remain in Serbia's hands.

“The archives have been asking for the weather, they said we open it but in us is the answer that the KLA didn't have archives, but nobody expects Serbia to open the archives without a lot of pressure, but who can help us without Serbia's archives, and they're just internationals as in mass graves to show us through satellite images, and the process not be blocked by the hands of Serbia”, he stressed further.

Regarding their expectations in the future and government assistance, he said very few expect the fate of the found persons, as he said very much has been promised, but the process is very stalled.

“We've talked to the Parliament on the issue of the found, much has been promised, our demands are general, and we just want to accelerate the process, we've talked to each one, and there's good words as much as you like, but I go a long time in forming the processing group, and it's recorded this” process, Qerkey concluded.

The fate of the missing from the last war in Kosovo must still remain a challenge for all, taking on the basis of even the poor commitment of institutions and the change of governments, also assessing Ahmet Gajqevci, chairman of the Co-ordination Council for Extinction and War Crimes in Kosovo.

Griqevci in an interview for Online Economics added that even the frequent change of powers, but experts have caused this issue to drag on so far.

“Yes, it has been beautifully packed during the Kizevac issue, meaning it has not been the problem of Kosovo officials, but of government officials who have neglected this process. It means the process for that number that was found in the Drenica region thanks to the non-stoptial forensics team at the time it enabled you the atmosphere has been carried out and this process has been completed, but there are other processes”, Gryqevci said.

We've had trouble changing governments always because we've been changed by commission experts, and this time we've had a lot of difficulties since we've been a long time since we've been without the chairman of the commission and now we have Andy Hoti, a worker who'll work well, but we're underachieved, and the institutions have to get this job a little more seriously because it's been”, he concluded.

In return, Grejqevci says Serbian military archives should all be opened, as there is also pressure on internationals, even though Serbia will not willingly accept opening archives and many other waste materials.

We've been demanding that 22 years, that Serbian military archives should be opened all because everything has been carried out in a Serbian command and administrative way, Serbian military police units, and I think there's a pressure on the international community and other circles where Serbia will not willingly accept opening the archives, and perhaps too many materials have been destroyed or hidden”, he said.
