The Kosovo Federation of Health Union has demanded from Prime Minister Albin Kurti that public sector health workers be paid retroactively the additions on wages from June this year.

From this Federation have said they are happy to be voted in favour of the Framework Agreement of August 14, 2020, between Kosovo and the Council of Europe Development Bank for the financing of the “Emergency Response to COVIDD-19”, as well as the bilateral Agreement with the Luxemburg Governance for continuing the project for co-operation and development called” health support programme”.

Full announcement:

Your Honor Mr. Prime Minister,

We have attended the Kosovo Assembly session with the date 06.08.2021, in which it was voted for the adoption of the Framework Credit Agreement 14 August 2020 between Kosovo and the Council of Europe Development Bank for financing project” Emergency Response to COVID-19”, as well as the bilateral Agreement with the Luxemburg Government for continuing the project for co-operation and development called” program for health support”.

We are very happy that these agreements have been passed because one project has enabled the drafting of the Law on Prevention and Combating of COVID-19 through their experts, where the proposal for inclusion additionals in wages for employees in the health sector has been made, and the credit agreement envisions repaying tools based on the 21.04.2021 decision, as well as the 2101.2021 No.

Therefore, given that Kosovo's budget has now been added to these tools, we demand that health workers employed in the public sector be paid retroactively the additions on pay from June 2021.
