Since July 28th, Turkey has been involved in fires. Authorities there have announced 174 hotbeds, of which 160 have been placed under control. At this time, Turkey is one of the favourite countries of Kosovo vacationers who choose the Turkish coast to spend the warm summer days.
However, the good luck is that no Kosovar has been hurt during these days. This confirms the Kosovo Tourism Union that is in close contact with all tourist agencies, as well as the Kosovo Embassy in the Turkish state.
Union Chairman Bucky Hoti said no complaints have been reached by any vacationer who are staying in Turkey.
We have received a confirmation from the Kosovo Embassy in Turkey and I can tell you there is no danger regarding holiday visits. And for good luck, we don't have any vacationers from Kosovo who are damaged by these fires. This confirms in addition to the embassy all tourist agencies operating in Kosovo, where no of their clients have complained about the current stays in Turkey and everything is in the stages of normal”, Hoti said.
Hoti says there is no danger for vacationers who have reserved to spend vacations in Turkey, as fires are being brought under control, while the remaining centres are outside the vacation zone.
“As far as part of Turkey is concerned we also have a concern from Kosovo's tourist agencies and Kosovo citizens who want to spend holidays in Turkey, and for that I have made a request to the Kosovo Tourism Union to see what the current situation is like. We have contacted the Kosovo Embassy in Turkey and received a confirmation from the embassy, which says there are fires, but the fires are out of range where visitors are frequented, off the coast,” he added.
Hoti indicated that Turkey is one of the three most frequented countries by Kosovars during the summer, along with Albania that remains the main destination, as well as Montenegro.
“Actually Turkey, seeing the standard it has and the development of tourism in that part is a tourist destination even for Kosovars because I can say is one of the top three destinations that Kosovars choose, we have Albania, that many visitors from Kosovo visit Albania, then we also have the Montenegrin coast, but we have a growing number of visitors every year they frequent Turkey and definitely welcome Turkey, their culture, the approach to tourism has made itself,<> he declares.
Otherwise, in a statement by Turkey's Directorate General of Forests it is reported that 174 forest fires broke out in all 39 cities between July 28th and August. Of the fires in question, 160 of them have been taken over, the statement reportedly reported that work continues to bring 14 fires under control in 5 cities. /kp/
