Facebook officials said this network acted as a “lavaric of deinformation”
The accounts were related to Fazze, a advertising and marketing firm registered in the United Kingdom. Facebook said Fazze's work was done mainly by Russia on behalf of an unknown client.
The social network said that the closure of profiles was made on the basis of the company's policies against foreign intervention.
“We removed 65 Facebook accounts and 243 accounts in Instagram from Russia linked to Face”, the company said.
“Fazee is now prohibited from our” platform, said in notification.
Network published dezinformation messages for anti-vaccination COVID-19, mostly in the audience in India, Latin America and, to a lesser extent, the United States.
Facebook and other social media have faced fierce criticism, including from US President Joe Biden, of spreading the lies about inoculation, which are hampering efforts to fight COVID-19 pandemic worldwide.
One of these accounts claimed that a Western vaccine would transform people into monkeys.
Russia has been doing business abroad actively with its anti-cronavirus vaccine, and analysts see this as an effort for geopolitical gain. /rel
