At a conference from NATO headquarters, Stoltenberg has declared the situation in Afghanistan to be extremely serious and unpredictable. He has indicated that NATO will send additional planes to evacuate citizens to Kabul.
The Taliban have taken control of the country. I am very upset about what I see in Afghanistan. I want to thank the countries that are helping evacuate citizens. I also thank the United States and Great Britain for the security they offered at the airport.
The Taliban must respect those who want to live there. The airport must be open. Additional aircraft will be sent to evacuate citizens in Kabul”, chief of staff has indicated NATO.
