Extreme extremes: Who is now the terrorist group I S-K?

This is the most extreme and violent group of all militant jihadist groups in Afghanistan.

Built in January 2015 at the height of the power of I SIS in Iraq and Syria.

Its recruits are jihadists from Afghanistan and Pakistan.

How extreme is the extreme?

The IS-K has been blamed for some of the worst atrocities in recent years, targeting schools of girls, hospitals and even maternity wards where they reportedly shot pregnant and nurses, the BBC reports.

Unlike the Taliban, whose interest is limited to Afghanistan, I The S-K is part of the ISIS's global network that seeks to reverse attacks on the West, international and humanitarian targets whenever they can achieve.

Where are they?

The IS-K base is in the eastern province of Nangarhar, close to the routes that smuggle drugs and people inside and outside Pakistan.
