Over 50,000 people have sought medical assistance at the Emergency Clinic at the Kosovo Clinical and University Hospital Service from January to now. This is a record number of case treatment compared to all previous years, even a 30 per cent increase in cases handled.

During July, over 7,000 people have received health services in this clinic, among them many patients have also been addressed because of high temperatures.

Emergency Clinic Director Basri Lenyan points out that within 24 hours in this clinic they seek medical assistance over 320 cases, which, according to him, is an emortic number.

“Klinic Emergencys marks the record number of cases that have sought emergency medical services for the January-July period of 2021. Emergency Clinic has requested emergency medical assistance over 50,000 cases, compared with the previous 30 percent, we have an increased number of cases that require emergency medical services. As for July, the Emergency Clinic to this day has asked for 7 thousand and 531 cases, and we have identified 274 injured in communications accidents. Emergency clinics dominate cardiovascular disease, neurologic disease, pulmonology, metabolic disease, and accidental conditions without bypassing the intensive care room where we accept the sick and the vulnerable who are at risk of life. Within 24 hours of Emergency Clinic, more than 320 cases are sought, which is an endorm”, he says.

Lenjan announced that Kosovo has had increased cases of emergency services due to high temperatures. He says that most of them are people with other chronic diseases.

The impact of environmental factors, especially high temperatures, increases the demand for emergency medical services, especially chronically ill people, heart disease, Talmudological disease, neurological disease, metabolic disease. The added number may also be the result of accidental factors, especially sun attack, heat shock”, Lenyan says.

As recent days in the country have increased new cases with COVID-19, Lenyan says post cases - CO VID are the ones that are demanding more treatment at Emergency Clinic.

“A state which charges emergency service from the beginning of the pandemic except for cases with COVIID, a situation which they load emergency service are post COVID status states, which means state after they've passed. Such cases are not rare, within 24 hours we may have up to 10 cases of cardiac problems, lung problems or metabolic problems. In co-operation with other clinics usually these cases, which require behind COVID's condition, are problems that show seriousness and in consultation with relevant branches depending on the condition, admitted to the awareness clinic”, he says.

The large number of patients seeking treatment at the Emergency Clinic, according to Lenian, is the reason why the country's institutions should end the new clinic building more quickly.

He claims that there are currently only 19 beds in the ministry, which, according to him, is a very small number.

“Gatisity is within people and acts that emergency service must certainly advance and strengthen, to build space capacity and function in order that if we're presented with an extraordinary situation, because the Emergency Clinic has over 19 thousand and 270 square meters, we have 200 countries for hospitalisation, we have 60 places for intensive care, with which in the next 30 years the emergency medical services will be close to emergency services at the level of Europe<1x> he said.

It also extended an invitation to primary health institutions to refer to cases only when they cannot offer those services in their clinics.
