O Director General BSH Tedros Adhanom Ghebrreesus told reporters during a visit to Hungary's capital, Budapest, that priority should be given to increase vaccine rates in countries where only 1% or 2% of the population has been vaccinated.

Mr. Ghebrases also questioned the benefit of strengthening vaccines, saying that “has a debate whether the strengthening vaccines have any efficiency”.
Hungary became the first country in the European Union to offer strengthening vaccines and join a growing number of countries, including the United States and Israel, that have started offering or are planning to offer third doses for their population.
O The BSH said last week it does not believe the current data supports the need for strengthening doses of COVID-19.
In the United States, more regions and organisations said on Monday they would seek evidence of the vaccine, following the announcement that the Pfizer company's vaccine received full approval of the federal government.

Louisiana officials said civil servants would be required to vaccinate or face regular tests, while universities in this country said they would start ordering vaccines for students.
The Pentagon said on Monday it is preparing to issue instructions to request vaculation, now that Pfizer vaccine has been fully approved. The Department of Defence had earlier said vaccines would be mandatory by mid-September or shortly after approval by the FDA (The Food and Barnat Administration).
