Director of Sports Medicine Clinic: From the beginning of the pandemic, there were not so many patients

Sports Medical Clinic Director Artan Ahmeti tells of the situation in this clinic and the treatment of these cases. He said they currently have 95 hospitalisation capacities, where most patients are on oxygen therapy, while the number of patients in serious condition is six.

We actually have 95 capabilities for hospitalization in sports medicine, but during this day it's gonna be opening the rest that's gonna be another 80 beds. The seizures are packed where every day we have that number, so it's usually 90-95 and most patients are on oxygen therapy, and the number of patients with the most severe condition is six”, Ahmeti told EO.

Citizens who are being treated in Sports Medicine are rarely vaccinated, Ahmeti says, and that this wave of distribution by Coronavirus has distinguished affected age groups.

There are only four patients with two vaccines and five with one vaccine. We've noticed the differences now with variant Delta, the number of requirements is very large, so in one day the Sports Medicine Clinic, which hasn't happened before, and also the average age is the middle age, so for contrasting that they've been the oldest, we're now middle age”, Ahmeti stressed that every day they're becoming the releases of patients who are better able to create space for other patients.
