Croatian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Druliq Radman announced that Croatia will host 20 Afghans who worked at the European Union delegation in Afghanistan, AA reports.
“It is our task and obligation to protect them”, the Croatian minister said.
He added that they have passed all necessary security checks and job competitions in institutions and that they are highly educated.
These are not unregistered persons without documents, but persons known in our institutions' systems”, he explained.
Prior to the country's full takeover by the Taliban, Croatia successfully evacuated 26 Croatian citizens from Afghanistan with the help of American, British, German and Ukrainian authorities.
