The US State Department said Kosovo has joined calls for the safe evacuation of people from Afghanistan.
The Afghan people deserve to live safely and with dignity. We in the international community are willing to help them”, the US State Department statement said.
On 15 August, Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani said on 16 July he was contacted by US Ambassador to Pristina Philip Costett, who has forwarded to President Joe Biden's request that Kosovo temporarily house Afghan civilians, which she says has accepted “without any hesitation”.
Meanwhile, the Kosovo government said they are in touch with the American authorities for the shelter of Afghans and added that “everything will be well closed”.
Meanwhile, the US Senate's Foreign Relations Committee has written that it welcomes the Government of Albania's decision to accommodate Afghans.
The people of Albania have once told the world what Besa means. You have our respect and thanks”, says a Twitter post of this committee.
I wish the Albanian government's decision to give temple safety have to those sleeping the Taliban on medicine in Afghanistan. The people of Albania are once again showing the world what “BESA” means. You have our respect and thanks. https://t.co/HLQ1x4pRxV

Albania's prime minister, Edi Rama, said on 15 August that he responded positively to the US's request to accommodate Afghans.
There's no question that we won't say no, not just why our great allies are looking for us, but because we are Albania.
Former US State Secretary Madeleine Albright has praised Kosovo, Albania, but also Northern Macedonia for its readiness to house Afghans whose lives are threatened by Taliban.
“We need to focus on ordering the lives of citizens in Afghanistan. As the US is working at the evacuation of those who are endangered by Taliban, I am grateful to Albania, Canada, Kosovo and North Macedonia who have offered the refuge of Afghan allies, especially women and civil society leaders. I hope others will follow this” example, she said.

The U.S. State Department has announced a new programme that enables thousands of Afghans the opportunity to move into the United States as refugees.
Thousands of Afghans who will be part of this programme must be transported to a third country, and wait for 12 to 14 months until the entire app is tested. /rel/
