Young people will be able to play only one hour a day, between 8:00 and Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
New strict rules were announced by the state news agency Xinhua, as parents reported that addiction to video games was hindering their children's studies and health.
Playmakers will be required to establish verification systems against addiction and the real name and apply them with determination.
The Chinese Games regulator, the National Press and Public Administration said it would increase company inspections to ensure that the deadlines are being implemented. He added that parents and teachers can play key roles in curbing addiction from games.
An administration spokesman said: Adolents are the future of our homeland. Protecting the physical and mental health of minors is linked to the vital interests of people and is related to cultivating the younger generation in the era of national renewal.
Limitations, which apply to any device, including phones, go beyond the rules imposed in 2019 when China cut game time to 90 minutes a day and three hours on vacation.
