CEC addresses several institutions to verify more than 3 thousand candidates for local elections

According to Elez, to verify the list of candidates with 3 thousand and 205 names, belonging to different political subjects, have been addressed to the Kosovo Judiciary Council, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Kosovo Agency for Intelligence, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Kosovo Ministry of Defence and Customs.
“have been sent to various institutions specific paperwork from which, based on the area of responsibility covered, confirmation of the candidates' adaptability with Article 29 of the General Election Law has been requested. These paperwork has also been attached to the list of three thousand and 205 candidates belonging to different political subjects and who have asked the CEC to qualify for participation in the election. An additional 2 thousand names will be sent to these 48x1> institutions soon, Elesi said.
The CEC spokesman says he has been asked for each candidate to verify according to the area of responsibility they cover.
“under 29 of the law on general elections are listed all cases when one cannot be certified as a candidate, so it has been requested for each candidate, from each of these institutions, to make verification according to the area of responsibility covering”, Elez stressed.
The letters in question have been sent to institutions and their response is expected.
