The fire forces and the Armed Forces of Kosovo are waging battle with the flames, but the rugged terrain has made their work difficult. Agim Llesaj, chief fireman in the Mirday municipality, tells about the Clan News, the difficulties of their work.
We've been getting information about the hearth in the village since 4, and from that date to today we've been on the ground to make isolation, but because of the terrain and the weather conditions, it's been impossible to isolate itself and the site has taken these dimensions.
We usually have the tools, but these kinds of situations don't need tools, but they need strength. It takes commitment from the above institutions. A hearth of fire cannot be isolated with ground forces. We have tools, but we don't have roads, other resources to make available tools. We're two directors and 14 operatives, keeping readiness in the city and other areas. We've divided the 50% effect on the ground. This is the worst place I've ever had for reasons that there's a huge spread. An act of honor and hardship. There's too many risks. I want to thank all the firemen for the beating and sacrifice”.
The fireman's chief tears down when he tells him what his son says when he goes off to take out the hearths.
I've got a guy who's 7 and when you look at a smoke he says “Daddy don't go” When you see a TV fire, it says “Daddy please don't go”. That's all”, he said.
