The fire exchange, which took place just before 7: 00 a.m. in Kabul's time in the northern part of the airfield, began when Afghanistan's former security forces carrying out the guard's duties exchanged fire with someone, including German and American forces, the Guardian reports, translates Periscopi.
The few details of the incident were discovered in tweets by the German military.
This morning “at 4 and 13 minutes, fire fighting broke out between Afghan security forces and an unknown attacker in the northern part of Kabul's airport. A member of Afghan security forces was killed and three others were injured,” said in the communique.
British Armed Forces Minister James Heapey said British forces were not involved in the incident.
The airport has been a scene of chaos since the Taliban took Afghanistan's capital on 15 August and international and American forces tried to evacuate citizens and Afghans persecuted by the new power. /Periscope
