The fate of businessman Bedri Rexhepi, who has disappeared since 8 April, is still unknown. Family members think institutions should have done more so far and the location of 38-year-olds that are briefly five months old since leaving his apartment and never returned while family still have no information.

Bedri Rexhepi's brother, Vedati, says they are satisfied only with the work of police, while for other institutions they have their remarks, although they are able to be co-operative all the time.

Besides the initial mistakes that are human, we are satisfied so far with the work of the police, but as far as other institutions are concerned we have our remarks, even though we every day have made efforts to meet and be informed of our brother's fate”, Vedati said.

The businessman's brother says that five months are too long to know anything about a person, so he feels that the prosecution should have reacted in time. He claims that Pristina's Constitutional Prosecutor at first neglected the case.

Currently, in this case, he is only arrested Jeton Vlasaliu, but who, according to Wedat Rexhepi, he was released for five days, calling the move a mistake. In addition to Wallace, another person has been arrested after trying to deceive his family by wanting to profit materially in exchange for Bedri's find.

The procedure certainly has a person in custody who is involved in the kidnapping of his brother and has not yet managed to extract information from him about where our brother is. Therefore, first in spite of unprofessional errors or neglecting the case that the prosecution has made, allowing the only suspect to wander freely for 5 days, after the arrest he had to work harder in the dawn of the case. We don't have the prosecutor's qualifications, so even their methods we don't know, but in such a case that it's considered a serious criminal act, we think so far that if more had been worked out, the case would have turned --”, Vedati followed.

Rexhepi stresses that in five days, the suspect in the event, Jeton Vlasaliu has been able to influence the evidence and manage to hide them.

Asked if he thinks the process is dragging on, he claims they suspect that this is happening, but he wishes that this procrastination would not endanger the brother's life.

By seeing that it's taking five months of our brother's kidnapping, and knowing that a person is in jail based on evidence, and we still have no answer to the brother's whereabouts then we have our doubts that, either by ignorance, the case is dragging on or there may be other reasons. However, we hope very much that the slow actions of security institutions are not causers who have managed to endanger our brother's life. Yet I understand that the prime suspect, Jeon Vlasaliu, despite the initial suspicion based on having been the key person in the disappearance of his brother, has moved another 5 days into the area where the brother has had his last contact until April 13th, where he has been arrested with the same evidence and suspicion. This time of inaction could have enabled this suspect to eliminate evidence, and the worst could have been that during this time our brother suffered from this”, Rexhepi said.

Vedati says that as family members, they have been very cooperative with institutions by showing them any possible information. He shows that the prosecutor of the case is victory Sadiki.

In your question I tell you that Victory Sadiki is in charge of our brother's case. We as a family despite the efforts we make each day by knocking on different doors where we think help can be given, so far we have no information that sends us to our brother. We believe that the institutions as soon as they clear up the case and if our brother's life has been endangered as a consequence of inaction then we will seek accountability for each”, he added.

Regarding family claims of negligence, Kosova Prees has also sent questions to the Pristina Constitutional Prosecutor as well as to understand why the suspect had been released for five days. But until the publication of this scripture, the institution in question has not returned.

The last time the Pristina Constitutional Prosecutor was declared in the case of Bedri Rexhepi's kidnapping, was August 12th, when a communiqué for the media was issued, ensuring that necessary actions were taken but had said he did not know the whereabouts of Bedri Rexhepi.

The report said that the State Prosecutor has taken all necessary actions in this case, at the same order a person suspected of criminal work “Restruction” and a person suspected of criminal acts “Deception”, “Dare”, “False presumption as official person “, “Forging documents” and “Manipulation with evidence”, preceded according to KPRK, which is located under the detention measure.

However, the Constitutional Prosecutor acknowledged that they have not yet managed to identify Rexhepi's whereabouts.

“So far, despite co-operation even with Kosovo's security structures, such as KFOR, KSK, etc, we have failed to identify the location of now damaged B. R.”, said in communiqué.
