Montenegro police have seized over a ton of cocaine today, the largest amount of drugs ever seized in this state. Drugs were hidden in a shipment of bananas, while two people were in handcuffs. Police action was conducted in Mojanovic, a neighbourhood on the outskirts of the capital, in Podgorica, media reports. Police discovered cocaine, which was divided into 1,250 packages, on Thursday evening in Mojanovici, a village near the capital, police said in a statement Friday.
Regarding the seized drugs, it has reacted through a message on Twitter, even Montenegrin Deputy Prime Minister of Albanian origin Dritan Abazovic. We are doing what we promised: Montenegro will not be a crime site”, Abazovic wrote.
