The United States and the allies have set August 31st as a deadline to complete evacuations.
The militant Islamic group has taken over Afghanistan on 15 August.
Since then, over 82,000 people have been taken out of Afghanistan, the White House said Wednesday.
US Army General Hank Taylor said more than 10,000 people remain pending departure, even though the “avions leave every 39 minutes from Kabul airport”.
He warned that the number of people arriving at the airport in an effort to leave Afghanistan could increase.
Crowds want to leave because many fear revenge from Taliban because of their work with international troops over the past two decades.
Some also fear that the Taliban regime may establish a harsh interpretation of Islamic law, which particularly oppresses women.
The President of the United States, Joe Biden, has decided to withdraw American troops from Afghanistan in April, after 20 years of presence in this country.
After the U.S., NATO has announced that all international troops will withdraw from Afghanistan.
Beden has initially set September 11th as the deadline for recent withdrawals, but later moved that date 31 August. / REL/
