Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, said it has been expected for the Kosovo Assembly to adopt the resolution condemning genocide in Srebrenica, but added he is surprised that such a resolution has also adopted Montenegro's Parliament.
The Kosovo Assembly on Wednesday adopted the resolution on Srebrenica, where Bosnian Serb forces killed over 8,000 Muslim men and boys during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1995.
A resolution banning the denial of genocide in Srebrenica was adopted in Montenegro's Parliament on 17 June.
Such resolutions will continue. We can avoid them in some parliaments, thanks to friendly relations, but some will continue with the political abuse of Serbs”, Vuciq told reporters during a visit to a Belgrade hospital.
The International Court of Justice in The Hague has ruled in 2007 that the Srebrenica massacre has constituted genocide.
The massacre has been named the worst in Europe since World War II.
Of the Balkan countries, Northern Macedonia has adopted a resolution on condemning the genocide in Srebrenica in 2010, while Albania, until now, has not adopted any similar documents.
In Serbia's country are two resolutions: one is required for Srebrenica to be convicted as a crime, and the other as genocide. The discussion about them is not yet in the order of the day.
