The summit brought together for eight times heads of state or government from the Western Balkans and counterparts from nine EU member states, high-level EU representatives and Great Britain to advance in their regional co-operation and European integration agenda.
The virtual meeting was organised by Chancellor Merkel, while in his speech Commissioner Varhely stressed the process of integration of Western Balkan countries, demanding that the enlargement process be accelerated.
“Aggression for co-operation and support for the region. Support in recovery after pandemic. Speed up the enlargement process. The Balkans play a key role for Europe”, said Commissioner Varheyli. /tch
