Harsh fights have erupted in the western town of Qala-i-Naw, Badghis' capital, with militants taking over the headquarters of police and offices of the state spy agency.
Afghan Defence Minister Bismillah Khan Mohammad said government forces were in “a very sensitive military situation”, adding that the “war was rampant” with the Taliban, reports Guardian, sent Periscope.
This took only a few hours after Washington announced that American ground forces had completed 90 percent of the withdrawal from Afghanistan.
Militants have launched a fierce war throughout Afghanistan since the US under Nato's forces announced the final withdrawal from this country early May.
The enemy has entered the city, all districts have fallen,” said Badghisi Governor Hessamuddin Shamms with a telephone message.
