Violence in Afghanistan has been restored to frightening proportions, and Taliban have taken over parts of territory after the withdrawal of NATO troops.
Many experts had predicted the removal of the NATO mission would bring about the collapse of the local military.
In an agreement reached with the Taliban, US forces and NATO allies agreed to withdraw all troops on promise that they would not allow Al Qaeda and other extremist groups to operate in the area.
