After the accident, the chief of the European Union Office in Kosovo, Thomas Szunyog, has expressed his condolences to the families of the victims from the bus accident in Croatia.
He has said his prayers are with the people of Kosovo.
“Today is a tragic day for Kosovo after the bus accident in Croatia. I wish to the wounded a quick cure and expressed my deepest condolences to the families of the victims. My prayers and my thoughts are with the people of Kosovo”, he wrote on Twitter.
Croatian police have declared that at 6:19 this morning, they accepted the accident report on the A3 Bregana-Lipovac highway, in the southern lane near the town of Slavonski Brod.
In the Police's statement, it has been described how the bus, with 67 passengers and two drivers, emerged from the highway.
“During the investigation, in the presence of the state attorney, police determined that the traffic accident occurred so that a 52-year-old Kosovo citizen was driving a document bus and Kosovo registration license plates in the south lane of A3 Coastan-Arway from west to east. Reaching the 211th mile of the highway, the driver did not move in the middle of the target lane, but drove the vehicle to the bar area, and then the bus crashed to its side. Members of fire brigades and other emergency teams intervened at the site of the event to pick up the troops of the victims”, the police statement said.
