The president of the Federation of Health Union in Kosovo, Blerim Syla, in a proposal for Online Economy has said that the delay of institutions for vaccine has increased the presence of the new version of the Devov-19 virus, called “Delta”.
On the other hand, he said he expects the fourth wave of Coronavirus, as many states are being alarmed for a new wave.
We've actually warned that there will be mass vaccines because a new version is expected. Unfortunately, you've seen policy neglect happening, and now the new version is present and it's also expected to increase the number, given the summer may allow the free movement of citizens. So the whole world is alarmed that the fourth wave is also expected, Syla said.
On 3 July, Kosovo accepted over 182 thousand doses of AstraZenecas vaccine, which were donated by Norway's state.
According to the Health Ministry, mass inoculation for Kosovo citizens against Avid-19, has started 15 June. In one day, over a thousand doses of the vaccine against Avid-19.
Since the beginning of the vaccine in late March, over 206 thousand doses of the vaccine have been given in all Kosovo cities, while the number of people who have received both doses of the vaccine is about 50,000.
Authorities have called on citizens, who, in order to manage the process in all vaccine centres anywhere in Kosovo and eliminate any unnecessary situation, stick to the defined term for vaccine.
