Former Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has demanded that in the course of his trial by the Special Court in The Hague, where he is being accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity in the recent war in Kosovo, he is protected by house arrest and ʹ since a third place to stay is required for him to choose Slovenia.

So reports Slovenian medium Necsenzurirano in a writing detailing Thaci's extradition process in Slovenia to continue his defence from house arrest.

This information has been confirmed by some sources inside Slovenia and abroad as well”, writes Primos Cirman and Thomas Modic, the two journalists who published the article on the investigative media Necensurirano.

By the Special yet to be declared on this issue, but court documents that are public show that Thaci had sought parole in December last year.

He has also agreed with the possibility of being in house arrest during the trial, in a “country that is a third state and is not on borders with Kosovo”.

The court documents, however, do not show what the country wanted by Thaci is, but the Slovenian media writes they have information that former Kosovo Liberation Army founders' first selection is Slovenia.

The article even says that Thaci has contacted even people within the Slovenian government to see the possibility of sending him to Slovenia and to ensure that the Slovenian government will become guaranteed, ensuring that the court that “Thaci will not leave Slovenian territory during the time it is tried”.

The court also has not answered the question of whether the Slovenian government has already offered the guarantee. Even Slovenia's Foreign Affairs Minister Anze Logar has not responded.

The court's public documents show that the court in Hagge had rejected the request for protection from Thaci's domestic arrest. This had occurred in January this year, since it was reasoned that Thaci could seize the opportunity to leave, and the court had also feared that Thaci could influence witnesses. According to judges, Thaci can exercise that influence even if kept in a third state.

But, the court could make a re-evaluation of Thaci's request, since one of the judges, German Kai Ambos, in his opinion wrote that it should be “seriously considered”, Thaci's request “if he receives an offer from any third country as guarantor for the”.

He writes that “such an offer would be a strong argument for Thaci”, while adding that “Thaci is convinced he could provide this support from a third country”.

Special Court Documents: Thaci “is confidential that it will secure permission to stay from a third country”

According to Necsenzurirano, this occurred at the time Thaci had already contacted Slovenian authorities. Under the procedure, the court reviews the possibility of house arrest for Thaci and sees whether conditions have been made every two months.

Questions about this potential Thaci move towards Slovenia have not been answered by his lawyer, American Gerogy Kehoe.

Slovenian media in one part of the text also writes about the closeness Thaci has always had with Slovenian authority and current Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansha. Ceket also made private visits Janez Jansha to Thaci in 2011, when the former Kosovo prime minister was still in opposition.

Not even the institutions in Kosovo have commented on this development. Kosovo's Foreign Ministry has not yet given any comments.

Thaci is being held in The Hague along with two of the former KLA co-founders and co-partisans, Kadri Veselin and Jakup Krasniqi, until Rexhep Selimi and other former KLA commanders are in The Hague.

The charge of everyone is the same. According to the special prosecutor, the KLA founders have committed crimes in the last war, either participating or allowing them to be in the chain of command.

All of the accused have flatly denied the charges weighing on them. They have been declared innocent in their first speeches in court. /Albanianpost. com
